All the natural treatments available with us

Natural medicine involves a completely natural approach to any illness that a patient wants to address. Here are the treatments available.

Acupuncture Chichester Natural Health Centre

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is widely considered to be beneficial for a range of illnesses and symptoms. From clearly defined complaints such as headaches, vomiting, neck ache, back, and dental pain. Through to more general feelings of ill health, such as nausea. or low energy.

According to traditional Chinese medicine's way of looking at the body, our health is dependent on the body’s motivating energy, moving in a smooth and balanced way through a series of channels beneath the skin. When the flow is disturbed illness may result. The acupuncturist inserts ultra fine needles at chosen points along the channels of energy. The aim is to stimulate the body’s own healing response and restore its natural balance.

Aromatherapy

Dating back to ancient Egypt, Aromatherapy massage involves the application of essential oils which are distilled from plants and flowers and each of which have unique therapeutic properties relevant to their chemical composition. These oils are applied to the skin using a variety of Swedish massage techniques undertaken with the aim to promote circulation and help to easemuscular tension. Therapeutic effects of the oils are absorbed both through theskin via massage and the nose via nasal mucosa. These inhaled oils are believed to directly act on the limbic system; for instance, research suggests the smell of Lavender (linalool) causes a decrease in beta waves, implying a sedating and relaxing effect on individuals.

Intolerance testing

Do you suffer from asthma, sinus problems, skin irritations, bloating, allergies, IBS, Thrush or nausea? Are you tired or lethargic? You may well be intolerant to certain foods or substances that could be quickly and easily detected using a Vega machine. So many people struggle on until they develop far more serious diseases that could have been prevented.

The test is carried out using a Vega machine which is widely used throughout Germany in GPs surgeries. This machine enables us to quickly obtain information about intolerances which may not be considered normal medical tests, but could be responsible for many types of chronic illnesses or symptoms in which conventional testing finds nothing wrong.

The test is completely painless, no needles are used, and is carried out with the patient lying down comfortably and fully clothed. After the test, in-depth advice and suggestions are given on dietary changes or ensuing needs for supplements or vitamins.

The test currently costs £200. The appointment lasts for approximately two hours, and the results are given on the day.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle contact therapy that helps release defensive responses that can become stuck. After an initial discussion of symptoms and life history the client lies or sits fully clothed. The practitioner then places their hands on the body at different points and allows the client to recognise places where the body is restricted so that these restrictions can be let go of.

Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a drugless and non-surgical form of health care. Chiropractors are concerned with the framework of bones and muscles that support the body (the musculoskeletal system) and the problems associated with it caused by accident, stress, lack of exercise, poor posture, illness, and every day wear and tear.

Chiropractic is widely recognised by the medical profession and the general public as a key part of the healthcare system, with its emphasis on a holistic or whole-body approach in addition to a sound understanding of medical and scientific implications of the work.

Chiropractors consider that the body benefits from having periodic chiropractic on a preventative basis so that incipient problems may be avoided.

Massage

Indian Head Massage

Originating from traditional Indian family grooming rituals, this holistic therapy is reputed to have many physiological and psychological benefits for relieving commonly associated symptoms of stress and tension, likely due to localised massage concentrated over muscles of the neck and shoulders, followed with working over the scalp and concluding with light techniques over the face.

Homoeopathy takes into consideration both physical and emotional symptoms as they affect each other. Homoeopathy encourages the body to balance itself in a gentle and natural way.

We can order homeopathic remedies should you know what you need, but at present, we do not have a homeopath working at the clinic. There is always a warm welcome for you at Chichester Natural Health Centre, call us on 01243 786946 to order repeat prescriptions.

Reflexology

Pictorial evidence of people working on the feet has been traced throughout the history of multiple cultures including China, Egypt and Russia. Reflexology, as practiced today, is based on zone theory; energy (qi) flowing through the body along pathways which conclude at the feet, hands and ears may be mapped out on the soles of the feet and palms of the hands.

Most commonly through working on the feet the reflexologist (practitioner) endeavours to activate the own bodies natural healing mechanisms by using light alternating pressure techniques over specific reflex zones or areas of the feet and ankles in order to promote circulation, disperse toxins and clear accumulation of uric acid and calcium in order to promote homeostasis within the client. Although specific areas being worked on may be slightly tender, reflexology is generally found to be very relaxing with many people falling asleep during treatment.
