Is Acupuncture safe and effective?

Scientific studies continue to show that acupuncture is one of the safest, most effective natural therapies. We’ve all heard of acupuncture, however, many people are still confused about how it works, and what conditions it can be used to treat.

What is acupuncture?

“Acupuncture is an ancient Eastern therapy that has been used for thousands of years to improve general health. It can be used to treat a wide variety of complaints ranging from back pain to infertility, high blood pressure to migraines,” explains Clinic Director Gabriella Kispal.

Gabriella Kispal acupuncturist at Chichester Natural Health Centre“At this time of year, many people come for help with hay fever and allergies, or to ease aches and pains so they can enjoy summer activities. Other people come for treatment because they want to boost well-being and stay healthy.”

“We regard each person as an individual and give a very thorough consultation before planning a course of treatment,” she explains. “By inserting special needles into specific points of the body, acupuncturists are able to re-balance the flow of energy, though the body to restore health and well-being. The flow of energy is known as Qi.”

“I’m often asked by new patients if acupuncture hurts. I tell them that some patients feel a tingling sensation, but the needles we use are very fine and definitely do not hurt. It is actually a very relaxing, gentle and enjoyable experience.”
